Carla Cantore
Ph.D. Student
Carla received the bachelor’s degree in electronic and telecommunications engineering and the master’s degree in telecommunications engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy, in 2020 and 2022, respectively. Since April 2023, she has been pursuing the Ph.D. degree program at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering (DEI) of Polytechnic University of Bari.
Her research topic is about the design of optical and RF links for integrated terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. Specifically, she is involved in the development of a numerical tool able to perform link budget analyses of optical feeder links (OFLs) as well as in the design of a fading testbed for the emulation of the fading affecting OFLs.
During the Ph.D., she will spend six months at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) of the European Space Agency (ESA) as a Visiting Expert, working on the modelling of digital mitigation techniques for OFLs.
